I just got word that the protests will be on Sunday and others will be held Tues PM in over 450 cities. Check the link to verify your city's location, date and time for your local protest. This is getting organized as I type since the Wed vote was only announced late last night.
Impeach & Remove Events are ON: The Nobody Is Above the Law network has activated.
Events are called for Tuesday, December 17th at 5:30 p.m. local time, but check your local event for a confirmed time and location. Numerous reports indicate that the House will vote on impeachment on Wednesday. December 18th.

*Check the link for YOUR city's date...Sunday OR Tues PM.
**Rachel Maddow just anhounced it will be on Tues PM bit the site says both dates depending on your city so please check and re-check to verify. It is coming together very quickly.

Hundreds of Thousands Expected to Join 'Historic Nationwide Mobilization' on Eve of Trump Impeachment Vote
"The night before the House of Representatives takes a historic vote to impeach Trump," progressive groups said of the anticipated action, "we'll head to every congressional office and public square to declare that nobody is above the law."
A coalition of progressive advocacy groups on Friday announced plans for a "historic nationwide mobilization" across the U.S. on the eve of the House's yet-to-be-scheduled vote on articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump.
Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to take to the streets around the country, said the "Nobody Is Above the Law" coalition, which includes MoveOn, Public Citizen, Indivisible, and Stand Up America, as well as more than a dozen other organizations.

(51,584 posts)They are setting it up NOW since the date was just announced last night. It may not even be clarified on the link yet since they are putting it together as I type. I emailed the organizer today for clarification...see his reply to me below...
"We will conduct the San Diego impeachment rally at 12 noon to 1:30 PM, Sunday December 15, 2019, at the Waterfront Park on the west side of the County Administration building, 1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA 92101. This rally has two main purposes: show mass public support for impeaching and removing President Trump, along with over 440 rallies, and 90,000 people registered nation-wide; and inform you of methods to encourage voters in other states to urge undecided Republican Senators to vote to remove the President. So please bring several people with you."

(51,308 posts)They all say the date has not been set yet, but that it will be confirmed soon.
They also say that there may be demonstrations beginning on Tuesday.
Just telling you what the sites say, not trying to argue with you. Too bad theres so much confusion.

(51,584 posts)I hope that people get the word out quickly since we really need the protests to be on the news and visible to as many as possible.
BigmanPigman
(51,584 posts)He told me it is on Sunday since I emailed him to ask if it will be Tues night or Sunday since the event says "the Sunday before the vote" AND "the night before the vote". That is why I said to check your local protest at the link. Since the date of the vote was just announced late last night the organizers are now organizing for Sunday, and not Tues.

Each event will be organizing very quickly due to the late night announcement of the vote. Some cities will do it on Sunday and others on Tues night. Many events aren't even up to date yet, even though it is in two days for many areas of the country. Spread the word! RESIST!!!!

(51,584 posts)I made my sign and have been set to go when word comes down. I know that this is a sudden and last minute thing for a lot of people and that may make the protests smaller unfortunately.
MoveOn, etc is getting it together now (since the date of the actual vote was only late last night) and we have a huge problem with getting the word out quickly. I don't do Fakebook or Twitter so I am left with emails and posting it here on DU. I am trying to help the activists knowing there is power in numbers.

(13,776 posts)Could the date you were given be wrong? I checked several others in the area, and they're all on Tuesday, too.

(51,584 posts)have decided but haven't gotten word out yet. Since I have planned on going for over a month and the date was set late last night I emailed my city's organizer and he emailed me back, yet the date was still uncertain on the site when I went to the link. That is why I wrote for everyone to check the link for their specific city's date and time (Sunday or Tues night) and to keep checking. Some will be on Sunday and some on Tues.
This is all coming together right now since it is so timely. I posted the info I got today to let others know and give everyone a "heads up" before the weekend. We need people to show up and be visible.

People need to be able to plan.

(51,584 posts)Rachel Maddow just announced it will be on Tues night so I just checked the site again and it has changed in the last two hours. Now it says both Tues PM and Sunday, depending on your city. We need people, lots and lots of people, to show up! This confusion is not helpful.

(51,308 posts)It says if you show up Tuesday, and theres no emcee, then assemble legally, hold signs, and chant.
The location info is pretty confusing also. I would have to drive some distance to reach any of these.
Weather on Tuesday is unfortunately forecast to be 80% rain.
