Sinclair forced over 190 stations to regularly feature 'chief political analyst' Boris Epshteyn's pro-Trump segments.
Boris Epshteyn, a former senior official for the Trump campaign and "chief political analyst" for the right-wing Sinclair group of television stations, has been fired from his position.
We will be ending the commentary segments this Friday, Dec. 13, featuring Ameshia Cross, and Boris Epshteyn," Sinclair said in a company-wide memo released on Wednesday.
The network said it was moving away from political commentary in favor of investigative journalism.
Sinclair operates 193 stations across the country and has for years injected conservative ideology and viewpoints into its news broadcasts.

(82,849 posts)Sinclair owns our local ABC affiliate. They cover local stories well and for a long time were my number two local source for TV news (behind the NBC affiliate, ahead of CBS and Fox). Sinclair's ownership has hurt their credibility, not only with the "must run" nonsense from Epshteyn, but also airing Sharyl Atkisson's reports. Both of them are so odious and such a jarring departure from the journalism practiced by my local stations, it makes me wonder what transgression Epshteyn committed to get cashiered.

(10,923 posts)Those awful goatforkers have made my local station an awful place to work. All the top personalities are moving on or retiring. I refuse to watch them anymore.
The "must show" tapes that come down from on high are the worst bits of repulsive ultra conservative bullshit I've ever seen. To be fair, I don't watch Fox though, so it might be worse, and I wouldn't know it. To see such conservative crap being promoted in liberal Seattle is an affront to most of us who live here.
