So tired of hearing political commentators saying the impeachment case against Trump is "too confusing" for the American people to understand and that Democrats need to better explain it to the public.
The facts of this case couldn't be simpler. The only question now is do Americans actually give a damn. We know Trumpublicans don't give AF if Trump asks other countries to help keep him in power. And they'll investigate anyone that stands in Trumps way.
At this point it's up to over 150 million people who didn't vote for this corrupt and deranged President to decide his fate. If they ignore this whole impeachment process because "none of it matters" and allow Trump to get re-elected they'll prove the pundits opinions right: That the American people are too stupid to focus on anything serious regarding our democracy and national security.
Republicans are counting on the majority of Americans to be willfully ignorant and apathetic to what's really going on in this administration.. Hopefully we can prove them wrong like we did in 2018.

Apathy is a serious matter.

(42,641 posts)It never is. I fought as a union representative for 33 years. Often it was the same battle, and the same issue.
But take hope, and say to yourself, 2018 and 2019 were the first waves. 2020 is next.
There is a reason all of these GOP incumbents are not running in 2020.

(18,486 posts)the Democrats haven't given them everything tied up in a perfect bow so they can just pass it on to us without having to do any work of their own.
If I were in their shoes, I'd be embarrassed to be caught loudly complaining that I'm too lazy and/or incompetent to perform my job effectively.

(766 posts)There's a new documentary about Mike Wallace out. He was an actual journalist who would go out in the field and ask tough questions of public figures. Seems like many on air pundits today don't want leave the studio and get their hands dirty.

(766 posts)It's a recurring theme among commentators and opinion writers. That Democrats need to make their case for impeachment as simple as possible or the American people won't understand the seriousness of what Trump did.

(6,522 posts)of the impeachment, but they didn't write it in crayon or a sharpie. People do have an opportunity to understand what is going on in this more-than-critical impeachment. But, I think it is easier to hear it from public news people, and what they say makes a big difference. Unfortunately, journalists aren't supposed to function that way.

(4,973 posts)I can't believe they are so self serving as to defend Trump's criminal behavior. They are criminal pushers- do the crime, call yourself a republican and we'll fight for your right to commit more crimes. What a bunch of pigs.
