Grass, like many plants reflect green light wavelengths and absorb many others under full spectrum white light. Under a grow lamp that does not preset the leaf with green wavelengths, the leaves will reflect pink and purple.

South African Apartheid separated people into White (Europeans), Black (native Africans), and Colored (people born in Asia). White people could own property and were able to vote. Colored people had one of those rights, but not both. (I learned this in college over 30 years ago, so it's foggy.) And black people had no rights. Besides, whites were only 33% of the population.
