Trump was overheard on call with Sondland demanding investigations for aid.

This connects him directly to the scheme.

The Repukes cannot play dumb and say Trump was ignorant of it all.

and did change their minds and votes it would go a long way toward bringing a chunk of the voting public to favor impeachment. I'm not naive enough to think they will change.
