I remember the Sept. debate when Klobuchar said that only people from the Midwest had good enough hearts to be Americans. As I wrote at that time, that would exclude me whose family landed in 1638 in Conn. and has mostly lived on the East Coast. Guess I don't know what being an American is.

Maybe I will be able to stop being really irritated about this Midwestern arrogance - how more virtuous and truer they are, but not tonight. (This was also something that would rile up John Stewart. New Yorkers just didn't have the right heritage.)

If she chooses to reach out to coastal voters in a way that does not denigrate the democratic base, I will listen to the justification for her becoming president.
