To be fair, Palin started from the red tee while Ryan's ego dictated he punt from the blue tee

http://www.politico.com/blogs/click/2012/09/palins-marathon-time-beats-paul-ryans-134141.html
The Republican vice presidential candidate recently misstated his marathon time (claiming that he ran the 26.2 mile race in two hour[s] and fifty-something), and Runners World called his bluff on Friday.
He actually crossed the line at 4 hours, 1 minute, and 25 seconds, according to the magazine.
Thats just slightly slower than Palin ran in 2005, finishing a marathon in 3:59.
Ryan did, however, beat Oprah Winfreys time (a common benchmark for first time marathoners) of 4:29.

(32,786 posts)9. Not only that, Ryan's time was made at 20 years old;
Palin's time was at 41 years old. Palin's a dingbat but she's in pretty good shape!

Paul Ryan lying about how fast he ran a marathon is kind of pathetic in the way the kid who lies and says his dad's an astronaut who lives on the moon when his dad's really an insurance salesman who lives in Ohio is pathetic. It's sad. It's unbecoming. And I guess it doesn't have much to do with politics until you compare his time to recent GOP Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin's. Who's the more fleet-footed ideologue?
It's Palin! According to Politico, Ryan's time of 4:01:59 (totally respectable for a first marathon, btw) was bested by the slightly faster Alaskan, who completed her first 26.2 in 3:59. But before you claim that the two ran virtually identical races, consider that Palin ran hers in 2005, when she was 41 years old. In contrast, Ryan was a 20-year-old He-Man when he ran his race twenty-odd years ago. Looks like Sarah wins the day.

She runs fast for a grown woman and is an idiot; he ran not particularly fast for a 20-year-old man and is a pathological liar.
Not seeing the hilarity, I guess.

21 years older than him when she ran, and that after having given birth to 4 kids.
You can't expect a 20 year old guy to compete with that, can you?
