Donald J. Trump was proud of his grammar school level letter to Erdogan.

So proud that he passed out copies at his disastrous meeting yesterday. Clearly, he thinks it was a "good" letter. A "perfect" letter. A "tremendous" letter.

He is woefully incorrect in his assessment of it. It is not, in any way, a model letter for correspondence between two heads of state. It is not a letter that should ever have been sent to another head of state. It is a letter that anyone with any sense of statecraft would have deleted immediately to avoid it ever being seen by anyone.

Trump says, "Let's make a deal." Trump advised, "Don't be a fool."

Erdogan crumpled it into a ball and tossed into his trash can, according to reports. He treated it as it deserved to be treated - a childish, petulant letter from someone who has no respect for anyone but himself.

That letter is demonstrative of Trump's palpable incompetence and arrogance. Neither quality is desirable in a President of what used to be the most powerful nation on the planet.

That letter should be an impeachable offense.

That letter should be the last straw.

At least we are getting an object lesson on the Dunning-Kruger effect in all its glory.

The old saying, pride goeth before a fall, comes to mind. I take heart that arrogance + imbecile will contribute to his downfall. This is not the usual situation where he can practice his manipulation in a tower as the only boss.

That works for us. If he did not have those glaring flaws, but the same purpose and intent, we would be far worse off. Hopefully, the cause and effect will finally catch up with him this time and dump a heap of good old "karma" in his lap. Nothing lasts forever. And, as far as consistency goes, well, show me something or someone who is completely consistent. A kick in his A-Heel will be justly deserved.

May he go down in infamy.

Even FOX is reporting that Erdogan crumpled it up and threw it away. Although they didn't comment one way or another on the letter, they just reported it while pointing out how great Trump has been.

I just don't know how anyone could read that letter and think the author of it should be leading anything at all much less the Free World.

bad that Erdogan didn't record when he crumpled the 'perfect' letter into a ball and tossed it into a trash can. He could have then sent a recording of it back to rump...the ultimate insult. Oh well, perhaps word of this act still got back to rump, who, I suspect by now, will want to go to war w/ one of our NATO allies because they insulted him. Every republican senator needs to have the competence of this rump act thrown up into their faces and then prompted for a response...we've already know what they are going to do, run and hide, as usual.

What an embarrassment. Doesn't he realize that every leader in the world regards him as a fool and someone who is easily manipulated? The decent ones also see him as a danger to democracy everywhere and want him stopped just as much as we do. The evil ones are looking to get as much out of him as they can before he implodes.
