To tell you the truth, I don't give a fuck what the Republicans in the Senate decide to do.

I want Trump impeached so it is on the record for all time. That is going to happen. One step at a time. No matter what the Republicans decide to do in the Senate it will not be good for them. It will be really bad for them.

I still believe in the end, when push comes to shove, they will understand their best option is for Trump to resign.

1. Make them condone multiple offenses related to more than just the Ukraine call.

If we can at least get a handful of Republican Senators to convict, that should benefit us in 2020.

3. The Articles of Impeachment will prove beyond reasonable doubt Trump committed High Crimes.

Anybody who votes against it, any American that says it isn't true, will become a traitor. They will become enemies of our constitution, our democracy, our country. That is the truth.

What Trump has done and is doing is the act of a fucking traitor.

I’d rather see him removed even if it’s a long shot.

I don’t mind waiting a little longer if that improves the odds. And waiting until primaries have solidified might get some votes.

But ultimately I don’t care. We will win an impeachment vote. We’ll do it on our time table and there isn’t anything he can do about it.

I’m looking forward to the public hearings which should include reading highlights from the depositions. The republicans will try their usual obstructionist clown show but the facts should already be available by then.

By the time it hits the senate we should have some clips of republicans arguing what the definition of treason is. And if they decide to go along with betrayal and lawlessness they’ll have to do it publicly.

6. the options (4) are all bad for GOP and why McConnel will never hold a trial

- disaster like no other IF a trial would be held and even when trump is not voted guilty, the mere fact that the trial was held will infuriate a huge part of the base in a manner that they may take it on GOP in Nov 2020 but this also energizes the opposition in huge numbers to vote GOP out

- disaster like no other IF a trial would be held AND SOME GOP Senators vote guilty, and trump is not voted out or not, the mere fact that the trial, some voted for conviction and this WILL infuriate a huge part of the base in a manner that they may take it on GOP in Nov 2020 BUT this also energizes the opposition in huge numbers to vote GOP out

- IF NO trial is held, the gop base would be placated BUT the response by the opposition would be untold in the history of US elections

- trump resigns this WILL infuriate a huge part of the base in a manner that they may take it on GOP in Nov 2020 BUT this also energizes the opposition in huge numbers to vote GOP out as we set ourselves free. Trump's personality will not allow himself to resign.

not holding a trial keeps GOP base intact at the cost of everything else and they would be happy to settle for that instead of party fracturing to smithereens

I fully expect them to acquit Trump

The goal is to uncover as many horrific Trump administration episodes to make their votes as shameful as possible

We have to be prepared to beat them at their own game using public opinion, subpoenas
indictments and a fair, secure election.

This is one of those times when we simply must do the right thing. If Republican Senators don't do the right thing, that's on them.

12. If this plays out right, and I trust Speaker Pelosi to do it right...

If the evidence presented by the House is as damning as we all think it will be, and the Repubs still refuse to convict, the Repubs will lose 5 Senate seats, if not more. I frimly believe that.

Ms Pelosi plays the long game, and she knows her shit. She just showed up Trump, and he was stupid enough to broadcast it on Twitter.

This was the correspondents dinner redux. Trump got embarrassed, and he made it public.
