Remember how unglued Republicans got whenever the Democrats and President Obama talked troop withdrawals? It dishonored the honored dead! Cut and run! "Abandoning" our allies! No matter how meticulous the plan, no matter how gradual the withdrawal, there was always a Republican willing to get in front of a camera (and no shortage of media outlets who'd run the footage) and pop off about what a precipitous action was being contemplated. The upshot, of course, was that Democrats and President Obama were paralyzed by uninformed public opinion, and nothing ever got done.

Now, President Trump is acting even worse than the doom-and-gloomers predicted, and what are we hearing from that corner nowadays? Silencio.

Hope like hell they are working on getting them out now - a full speed bugout from that base would be horrifying.

This was so badly thought out. Trump obviously thinks he has a better business relationship with the Turks, than a political one.

at the start of Trump's term when he was hurling threats at Kim Jong Un and I woke up daily afraid to turn on the news and learn that the U.S. had nuked North Korea.
