Kevin McCarthy just lost it on a journalist, re: Ukraine and Manafort

Andrew Feinberg ✔ @AndrewFeinberg

JUST NOW: After @GOPLeader suggested that the Russia investigation concerning the Trump campaign was started in Ukraine to damage @realDonaldTrump (not true) I asked him if he was suggesting that Paul Manafort, who was tried/convicted in a US court, was framed. He was not happy.

He's been receiving funding from Russians, and giving some back after being caught doesn't undo it. Wonder how he'd like being called Moscow McCarthy?

walked out on a limb, apparently sure it leads to something better. I can think of no better explanation than David Frum's prediction. They believe they can eliminate accountability to the people. We now know Russia's been exporting corruption for decades to undermine our systems, but we also have our own RW plutocrats-now-kleptocrats.

“Maybe you do not care much about the future of the Republican Party. You should. Conservatives will always be with us. If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. The will reject democracy.”

It's so simple.

1. US intelligence observes various efforts to affect a US election, and trace origins to Russia. Evaluations of these efforts indicate intention to smear/demonize Clinton, in order to favor Trump.

2. Since this is an illegal act, it is investigated.

And that's it. Really. That's all.

Questions for the Rs...........
US intelligence agencies stand 100% behind their determination that interference came from Russia using misinformation to influence voters via the internet. Are you suggesting that you know more about internet traffic analysis than the CIA/FBI/NSA? Do you even know what an IP address is?

Analysis of Russian interference shows internet efforts were largely targeted towards fairly specific demographics and regions. This suggests Russians were given data in these categories. The investigation quickly found multiple contacts/relationships between the Trump campaign and various persons known to be in the sphere of Russian influence. Do you think these leads should have been investigated, or ignored?

But no, instead........... wringing of hands, wringing of logic, and "we must find out where the Mueller investigation started!!!"

The investigation resulted in the conviction of trump’s campaign manager. That by itself justifies the investigation.

Democrats should keep the message that simple.
