(73,308 posts)gotten a security clearance from Trump when he was assisting in Trump's defense per the Mueller ivestigation. That overlaps with his Ukraine nonsense. He has claimed that he was not paid for his work on the defense team, but his word is hardly to be taken on face value.
The most important thing is that he claims his Ukraine gig was both as Trump's lawyer, and for the State Department. He has even indicated he has e-mails, etc, that prove he was coordinating with the State Department. That's where he -- and those in the administration that coordinated with him, including Trump -- are in serious trouble. Those two roles define "conflict of interest." Add to that the Ukraine bit was for the 2020 campaign, and that conflict of interest becomes a triangle.
