Russia tells US not to release Trump-Putin transcripts

Russia on Friday urged the United States not to publish Donald Trump's conversations with Vladimir Putin after a growing scandal led the White House to release a transcript from a call with Ukraine's leader.

"As for transcripts of phone conversations, my mother when bringing me up said that reading other people's letters is inappropriate," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters at the United Nations. "It is indecent," he said. "For two people elected by their nations to be at the helm, there are diplomatic manners that suppose a certain level of confidentiality."

The White House on Wednesday put out a summary of a July 25 call with Ukraine's newly elected president, Volodymyr Zelensky, after controversy over the conversation led rival Democrats to launch an impeachment process. It showed that Trump asked Zelensky to probe Democratic rival Joe Biden, and Democrats are looking into whether Trump used a delayed $400 million aid package as leverage.

Lavrov, who met Friday with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, criticised both US lawmakers and media for the release of the transcript.

"Being so vociferous in saying that if you don't show a certain memo involving a partner, that you're going to bring this administration to its knees, what kind of democracy is that? How can you work in such conditions?" he said.

The only problem is that it would expose one of his deeply place operatives..... tRump
He would have to try other avenues to fuck us up.. His main objective is to put mother Russia back to it’s glory days before the fall of the Soviet Union.. Read his history it’s very telling what he wants.

We will read their letters. We will impeach trump. We will try Putin and any other criminal Russians in absentia, and we will sanction Russia until they initiate democratic reforms and rid themselves of oligarchic autocracy. FUCK #LAVROV

The more I read this the more pissed I am.
A god damn #Russian official in Putins Oligarchy lecturing the US about democracy.
And like we care about his fat ugly Russian woman mother. Fuck her too.

I think we really have to read between the lines. Putin really wants us to listen to his and Trumpy conversation so we all here in US will realize, not that we don’t already, just how much he owns and played us all..

A few hours after Lavrov made this statement WaPo confirmed via multiple sources what Trump said to Lavrov at their first meeting in 2017. What a coinky-dink.

We still don't know how square Election 2016 was or wasn't because it wasn't the focus of the Mueller Report, nor do we know what exactly and from where 2020 is being targeted.

Every American has (IMHO) a right to know just how bad we have been sold out. We need to completely understand the damage Trump has done so future Presidents can start to repair the damage.

AND apparently, we need to review and revise our Whistleblower laws? Act? Policy? Rules? Guidelines? Whatever it is that governs that system NEEDS to be tweaked.

In listening to the testimony on Wednesday it was clear to me that there are no clear guidelines that take into consideration what if it is the President and his administration that has broken the system and is the target of the corruption. What do you do if it's already the fox who in the hen house?

Executive privilege also needs to be limited if the President is at the seat of the suspected corruption.

Maybe the gang of eight needs to be the place where the whistleblower allegations SHALL be simultaneously delivered to Congress. All eight all in one room all at the same time. That entity (Gang of Eight) of congress who have the secrecy clearances, experience, and the bipartisanship to put country before party.

SOMETHING SURE NEEDS FIXING so the "SHALL" always works.

I have no doubt that Putin wants those calls to remain hidden but the fact that they would try to argue that it would be indecent rather than a more legal term is interesting!
