(82,849 posts)But for some reason, all those gung-ho Republican types seem to be just fine with their hero and his antics. I've noticed that when I confront a troll online with a specific action Trump has taken (e.g., the King of Israel nonsense), they ghost on the conversation if not the whole board. It's like troll-b-gone!

(28,702 posts)don't joke about having a bomb in your backpack at Disneyland either. My niece's ex-boyfriend did that and they were all escorted immediately out of the park.
she grew up at Disneyland and totally loves it (I grew up close enough and totally do not). It was mortifying for her. I think her ex is never allowed back in. and it was a joke.

(10,071 posts)The few times I was required by relatives to go to Disneyland I hated it. The heat and humidity, the crowds, the long, long lines, the overpriced food and water, the overpriced souvenirs, the awful junk food, the cost of everything, the fakery of everything, the annoying costumed cartoon characters getting in your face, the crying and screaming from children, the smell (vomit and chemicals), the endless walking, the stinky bathrooms and overcrowded restaurants and shuttles. You couldn't pay me enough to go back.
So, her ex-boyfriend was probobly saved from an experience worse than the DMV.

(28,702 posts)yeah. i haven't been there since 1998. my memory is of lines and dollars out the door. but my niece, she loves it. go figure.
on that last visit my poor son waited over an hour for TWO rides only to have them break down before he ever got on.

(5,106 posts)I've never gone, but am sure that Disney World is even worse. Over the years I've been to a number of (lesser) "super" amusement parks. The bigger and more hyped, the worse. It's been thirty years since I've been the parent of children of amusement park age, but back then Hershey Park in PA. was one exception. You could also "tour" the chocolate factory, but was really just another "ride." When I was a kid in the Fifties, you could tour the actual factory. I do believe all parents owe their kids at least one big super amusement park outing. After that there are school outings as they get old enough to be on their own.
Farmer-Rick
(10,071 posts)But they made it clear we would not go in the amusement park.
They gave us free chocolate. It was the best school outing ever.

(5,106 posts)I imagine you were already scheduled to tour something else in the Harrisburg/Gettysburg area. There's a LOT of fun/educational stuff to do in that part of PA.

I'm betting that the chocolate factory tour was more enjoyable.
Farmer-Rick
(10,071 posts)Yeah, we toured something else while we were there, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was.
The chocolate factory was the highlight. And I was glad we didn't do the amusement park. I was a curmudgeon even back then.

Lucky Luciano
(11,242 posts)...uses such satire must be known well enough so that others know they are in fact skewering evil rather than participating in it (though I guess that is redundant since that is the point of such satire!).

How does bone-spur Don the Con get away with pretending to give a damn about the armed services?

Twenty soldiers that participated in the Wounded Knee massacre that slaughtered 300 unarmed Native American men, women, and infants, were later awarded the Medal of Honor for that action.

People have been trying to do this for years. It always goes nowhere.

(28,939 posts)should have to read the citations of those who have been awarded them, especially those who got them hard way, posthumously.
