1. I think a lot of people believe that racists are only those who wear white hoods

and burn crosses and do other extreme things and use the n-word in public, and since they aren't doing those things they aren't racists. They think that as long as they are polite and not overtly hostile to PoC and maybe even have a couple of black or Latinx co-workers they're friendly with, they can't possibly be racist - even though they might talk among themselves about "those people" and "illegals" and so forth. You don't have to belong to the Klan to be racist.
