Have you noticed?

That Democrats run on issues that they want to pass into law once they are elected.

And Republicans run against the issues that Democrats want to pass into laws. They don't say what they are for or what they want to pass into laws.

Once elected, Democrats are fought and blocked by the Republicans on all the issues they said they were for when they were running.

However, Republicans, when elected, pass legislation that was never debated or discussed before they were elected. For example, trillion dollar taxcuts for the wealthy. Or repeal of regulations that protect the average citizen. Or repeal of trade treaties and making deals with dictators.

What if Democrats never discussed what they were going to pass but only criticized what the Republicans had done? What if they waited until they had the majority and then passed huge tax increases on the wealthy, Medicare-for-all, free college education, etc?

I think the Republicans definitely have the advantage in the present set-up for presidential elections.

House go ahead and pass legislation now on what our candidates are running on. Because not only do Republicans run against what we want to do, they distort what we want to do. But, if we already have passed a health care bill or immigration bill or social security bill etc. passed in the House we can direct Americans where to read it, and tell them if they like it, then elect us to the Senate and White House so we can finish the job.
