Are you concerned that Trump will take over the Courts the same way he has taken over the Senate?

The most recent decision by the Supreme Court was puzzling to a lot of people. How could the Supreme Court rule that a President could take money appropriated by Congress and spend it however he wishes? If he wanted $2.5 billion to build his wall, no problem, he could take it from the Pentagon budget.

The loyalty of the cult runs very deep. Does it run into the functioning of our Court System? Are there judges that will put honest and non-partisan decisions to the side, in favor of helping Donald Trump and his radical agenda? They support Trump and his Party over judicial temperament?

Maybe so? We will see how the Courts handle the issues of House oversight in their upcoming decisions. If Donald Trump seizes control of our judges in the manner he has taken control of the US Senate, our democracy is in deep peril.

but my understanding is that is not what the court ruled. It ruled that the plaintiffs did not have standing to bring the lawsuit.

Sadly that means Trump will be able to spend the money on his f'ing wall... at least until someone else sues him and a district court again rules that he can't do that and it gets bounced to the Supreme Court yet again. That might take a while.

Personally, as a taxpayer, I think anyone would have standing to sue the President over failure to follow the constitution. But that's just me.

and I wonder how "much" of Congress it has to be... a single Representative or Senator... the appropriations committee or ???

When the Courts have to rule on the authority of the Congress? Will they rule that the Congress does not have an inherent power of oversight?

Is that not correct?

There was confusion around their decision....or lack of decision.

Sign the decision, nor did the others. Causing confusion. They have made so many wrong decisions. Roberts does not want his Court to be political, but at this point, who knows?
