Now... ask how many actually GET released on bail when there are credible charges against them? That should be zero.

Do you see the "child rapist" exception in the Eighth Amendment?

Neither do I.

The considerations are flight risk and danger to the community.

The defense has offered confinement to home with electronic monitoring, a court-appointed in-home trustee to monitor the defendant, and no visitors other than as the court may approve, along with a variety of assets as security.

It is up to the prosecution to show that does not adequately address the two concerns.

7. C'mon. Justice demands that cases be evaluated on their merits.

Can I get anyone locked up for a few days or weeks or months simply by accusing them of something heinous?

A judge needs to look at each case and make a determination as to how credible the accusations are, how serious they are, how able and likely the accused is to flee, etc.

Justice demands that even Epstein gets a *hearing* as to bail.

Now, the particulars of this case certainly suggest no bail from where I'm sitting, but that's exactly what a judge needs to determine.

Bail consideration doesn’t mean he’s actually going to be bailed out. It means his rights are being respected by the state as they rightly should. Hopefully his request will be properly and legally denied, he’ll be properly and legally convicted, and he’ll properly and legally rot in jail until he dies.
