(10,156 posts)America should officially wipe out Trump's presidency, he need to be consigned to the dustbin of history, his name never to be mentioned again in polite society. We should only remember the many innocent children he hurt.

It is happening here. Every media outlet should be broadcasting stories about this atrocity instead of Trump's stupid tweets.

(10,749 posts)I've been listening to several books about Nazi Germany. The latest is Blitzed, by Norman Ohler.
Ohler quoted some excerpts from Mein Kampf about propaganda - This is precisely what Trump is doing.
Hitler sounds like he might have been a germophobe, and he took drugs so that he would have the energy to sustain his numerous public appearances and speeches. Of course, Trump is in lousy shape, but evidence of drug use has been there.
Yes, the Hitler analogy might be overdone, but if the proverbial shoe fits. . .
Folks, we have concentration camps for children at the border.
There are going to be raids on Hispanic immigrants, and you can bet the legal and illegal will be swept up in it. The Nazi Germany references to "aliens" and "vermin" - referring to Jews - are most certainly the playbook for the demonization of Hispanics.
He has called for violence against those who oppose him, to say nothing of his condemnation of the press.
The entire Republican apparatus has fallen in lock step behind all of these actions.
So, yes, the Hitler analogies are appropriate. And I think we're going to be hearing from Trump soon that he his proud of that connection, in the same way that Bannon has declared that he and like-minded others should wear the designation as racists as a badge of honor.
They have told us from the beginning who they are. This is no surprise.
As the saying goes, this is not going to end well.
