Will they, in fact murder me, within minutes as I play with a toy gun.

Will they come for me when I pray?

Will they put me in a camp so that I might die due to the lack of care and the decency to give me soap, a blanket and a toothbrush?

Why do you hate me for the color of my skin?

This is our world today. Trumps world.

I lost my religion a long time ago. Yet some things still strike a chord, especially today.

But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

I realized a long time ago that one can be deeply spiritual without being religious.

I had an epiphany decades ago when I got lost in the Redwood forest north of San Francisco. Wandered off a trail following a bird's song and just kept going. After about 30 minutes, I realized I had no idea where I was. The old me would have had a full-blown panic attack melt-down. This might sound odd, but it was if the forest just spoke to me, telling me that I was not lost (well, yes I was, but not in the other sense) and that I was going to be there a while and that it was going to be ok. Hours later, I walked out of the Redwoods a different person. Now, whenever I feel the world closing in on me or I become overwhelmed to the point of choking on life, or get that feeling of trumpian news overload, where he sucks all of the oxygen out of the air, I get in the car and (you guessed it) go get lost on the Olympic peninsula.

Nothing compares to the rich pallet of Mother Nature creations.
