Bill Maher spoke with CNN’s Chris Cuomo tonight about the 2020 Democratic field––which he (and basically everyone else) thinks is too large––and his concerns about whether the Democrats can beat President Donald Trump in 2020.

He acknowledged that “Hillary was a terrible candidate,” and Cuomo said Clinton “didn’t help the situation with the emails in terms of how she handled it with her answers and her actions.”

“Absolutely, right,” Maher said. “And she committed obstruction of justice. Trump did, I think, in worse fashion, but, you know, I mean, smashing up your phones and your hard drives…”

Once again Maher parrots a right wing talking point.

… that she went outside and "smashed" her phone with a sledgehammer or something... Hannity repeats it all the time... she would never destroy her phone that way. She's too smart. I hear you should soak it in a tub of water for a week. But, that's for us... Hillary's emails were sent somewhere and/or received somewhere - you can't destroy them by smashing a phone or computer. Emails are like that - they exist in many places... Is Maher losing his mind?

Yeah, he hated Trump. But ever since his comedy central days, he was pushing BS against Hillary. That BS turned around and helped create the illusion of crooked Hillary that got Trump elected. If she was a terrible candidate, it's only because people like Maher in an effort to push both sides are corrupt made her so.

Not only has he never self reflected on how he helped create the careers of right wing noise machines like Coulter, but he's clearly still making shit up about Hillary. You can't laugh at Trump fans, and not ask, why the * did I spend years allowing RW talking points to flow from my own show ...

When I see Bill Maher I am reminded of the musical Caberet making cute jokes about race while the Nazis were rounding up "undesirables" and building those "work" camps.

Possibly Bill is just a well-intentioned comedian who just wants to help us not feel too sad about the children's prisons at our border. ---but I think he has just been running scared since he lost his show by years ago by not kowtowing to the powers that be.

Clinton on the other hand has not backed down on the truth about Russia, Trump, and fascism even though once more being threatened with politically-motivated investigations and the mob-stirring cries of "Lock her up."
