Not only did the US Navy Seals who raided the Abbottabad compound in Pakistan in 2011 find Osama bin Laden, they also discovered his collection of books. These reading materials are being analysed and gradually made public by the US government under the title of Bin Ladens Bookshelf and the above is a list of the English-language books found at his home, all digital copies rather than printed.
There is no light reading here. Instead of laughing at Bertie Woosters controversial choice of purple socks, the head of al-Qaeda seems to have preferred high-profile critics of the US government such as Chomsky and Palast, while concentrating entirely on serious politics, law and, especially, conspiracy theories. Among these are the chronicles of the ongoing activities of the Illuminati, the running of the USA by shadowy cabals (take your pick of a Power Control Group, elite financiers or 300 chosen families), and that 9/11 was organised or at the very least allowed to happen by the US government.

(14,899 posts)determines whether or not somebody is a journalist, or whether or not the person whose work material bin Laben possessed had acted inappropriately.
The question of whether or not JAss is a journalist should be answered by examining his work practices and patterns, not by invoking an anecdote of a particular triggering bogeyman, or an appeal to the consequences.
