I remember the coupsters taking over a radio station and announcing that they were now in charge of Venezuela. While the rest of the world was trying to sort out what exactly was happening, the Bush administration immediately recognized the new, self-proclaimed government. As I recall, they lasted less than 48 hours and the unpleasantness was never spoken of again.
