The rabbi in Poway was on Anderson last night saying how wonderful Trump was to him.

Giving accolades to the racist in chief.

I found it to be extremely disturbing for this man, who was just a victim of a hate crime, having such kind words for the man who has stoked this hatred of others.

And never a word about guns.

Really weird and to me disturbing.

1. He's what they call a "black hatter" in Jewish circles, because the men dress all in black.

Are the Poway "black hatters" related, the same? I was certainly disappoint in how the rabbi gushed over trump who has set the stage for these attacks on religious groups.

13. About Chabad-Lubavitch

Following its inception 250 years ago, the Chabad-Lubavitch movement—a branch of Hasidism—swept through Russia and spread in surrounding countries as well. It provided scholars with answers that eluded them, and simple farmers with a love that had been denied them. Eventually the philosophy of Chabad-Lubavitch and its adherents reached almost every corner of the world and affected almost every facet of Jewish life.

The Lubavichers have taken on a unique role in Judaism by providing services and outreach to Jews worldwide. The Chabad centers hold daily and weekly prayer services for everyone as well as holiday services and activities, especially shabbat (sabbath), where they host dinners. Local Jews from various denominations and unaffiliated make up most of the congregants, but also they are used a lot by Jewish travellers, who might be in a city or area that might not have a minyan (daily prayer service) nearby and helps them observe shabbat with a kosher dinner, services and havdalah.

Comparing them to Christian fundamentalists is not a particularly useful comparison imo.

that this particular Jewish group was Hasidic. I lived near many of them during my time in NY.

One thing they all do is vote as a solid bloc, they did this for Hillary for Senator after Bill Clinton pardoned a couple of them on his way out the door. We underestimate what they will do come November, 2020.

Chabad is very right wing, especially when it comes to policies concerning the Middle East. They love Trump. When Trump moved the embassy to Jerusalem he cemented the love fest.

If the community is a reflection of him, this doesn't surprise me that such a titular religious leader would have been selected by a wealthy congregation.

Just because this horrific event occurred in California and at a Synagogue doesn't necessarily mean the victims are Democrats.
