Trump's statement about mother and doctor meeting to kill a baby could be the end of Trump

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/28/us/politics/trump-abortion-fact-check.html

This is the statement as quoted from the NYTimes

“The baby is born, the mother meets with the doctor, they take care of the baby, they wrap the baby beautifully, and then the doctor and the mother determine whether or not they will execute the baby,” he said. “I don’t think so.”

“It’s incredible,” Trump said
_________________________________________________________________________________________

What will Trump do? Four choices

A. Apologize for the awful statement
B. Leave it alone, ignore any fall out about the statement
C. Decide to fight over the meaning of the statement..(defend himself on what he said)
D. Say that the media got it all wrong, and, say that he did not say this. That he said something else.
________________________________________________________________________________________

While Trump has said some truly stupid things, and insensitive things, and lots and lots of lies, this one could be the end of him. It attacks mothers and doctors everywhere. Yes,...everywhere Now, everywhere means just that...everywhere. Here in the U.S.A. and everywhere else....South America, Australia, Norway, Russia...etc........everywhere.

This one is unbelievable. It is stupid and it attacks mothers everywhere. This one could do it. It is the dumbest, and most insensitive thing the idiot has said. Some supporters in the media, may ignore this. As the statement at the top says. It will take time to get around. When it does, if it does, and everyone can view this statement as what he said, then he could have really said something totally offensive to hundreds of millions of people...Maybe the media will bury this. But I doubt it. Saying something this stupid, could be the biggest story in Trump's presidency.

The fanatics have been calling pro-choice advocates "baby killers" for 30+ years, and I am talking about abortion of a zygote. They are so unhinged they call nearly every form of contraceptive an abortifacient.

They are violent people who stalk the children of clinic workers and gun down doctors. And you know how Trump loves violent people.

As for the media, they have never known how to deal with the issue because anti-choice fanatics made it a religious issue and painted the rest of us as dirty people who believe in sex without consequences. There is an American white Christian terrorist network that kills doctors and destroys clinics, but since they aren't Muslim we can't call them terrorists, can we?

Although he and his followers will try to frame this as an anti-abortion rant, the situation he is describing has nothing to do with abortion. As other threads here have described (often in heart rending detail, from the point of view of attending nurses and parents who have lost a child this way), this statement is describing the tragic circumstances where an infant is born with a birth defect that will not allow it to survive. tRump is attacking grieving parents over a family tragedy in his typical thoughtless and heartless fashion. THAT is what’s going to come back to bite him. Or one can hope.

Mon Apr 29, 2019, 12:31 PM
Apr 2019
Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump made an incendiary remark at a rally Saturday night, veering from criticism of Wisconsin's Democratic governor to a false claim that mothers and doctors have the option to "execute" babies.

Speaking at a rally he hosted in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Saturday, Trump pointed to former Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker, who was in attendance, and said Walker's successor, Democratic Gov. Tony Evers "shockingly stated that he will veto legislation that protects Wisconsin babies born alive."

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Evers planned to veto a GOP-backed state bill that could have meant life sentences in prison for doctors who intentionally did not provide medical care to babies born alive after a failed abortion.

Trump continued on the theme after his initial comment to claim that mothers and doctors are given the choice to "execute" a baby.

...he is not talking to you. He is talking to violent people, and he will double down and tell this story again and again until he needs another vile lie to whip up his cultists.

Remember the "human trafficking" story he told to justify the border wall and his abuse of migrants? How lovingly he detailed the picture of helpless women being tied up, the duct tape over their mouths? He stroked this image, and told the story over and over.

He gets pornographic in his descriptions of violence being done to the helpless. Do you think he cares about captive women or slaughtered children even a tiny bit? No, but he sure cares about whipping his audience into a frenzy and aiming them like a cannon at the rest of us.

He will double down. Facts be damned.

he will lie and make more outlandish statements to back himself up! The media has given Trump a pass on almost every stupid thing he says.

According the Washington Post (which is tracking his lies), it is the 5th time he has told that particular lie. The first time in early February.

we've been underestimating this asshole since 2015.

you can keep underestimating him if you like, but i'm done. he's a ginormous jerk, a proudly willful ignoramus, and he's set world records for lie production. all quite true and all quite irrelevant, as he also has the backing of 90%+ of the GOP, and he already rakes in tens of millions of dollars for his re-election campaign.

if you really think this is the end for Trump, i'm just going to have to disagree.

Particularly those with children. Ask them to describe the process where they were offered the opportunity to terminate their newborns---as trump described. Ask them how they can give their support to a subhuman who would flagrantly lie about such a sensitive subject.

If we know that this is vile, then our leadership knows. If this is the .."most vile out of this creep" then perhaps, just perhaps...the democratic leaders are waiting to attack. Perhaps the attack will be in unison...and
Trump will have trouble defending such an attack.
..Why wait?..Get everything in a row, with your everything ready..and sure of exactly how to attack..then let the "ignorant creep" have it full throttle. All at once.

...The statement is so stupid and indefensible, that the ignorant creep must pay. And further away we get..the harder it will be for him to take it back..."Oh I am sorry for what I said 2 days ago..or will it be 3 days...well, it is too late ......................You're fired ignorant creep!!!!

He got the response he was looking for from his crowd.

Nothing riles them up like the subject of abortion - and now infanticide too.

And thanks to the almighty churches (who should no longer be tax exempt because of their political activity), there are way too many single issue voters out there.
