Russia maliciously targeted Clinton at every turn.
Supported Trump at every turn.
But Russia tacitly approved of Bernie and did not hinder
his campaigned.
And now, Bernie, is the best choice for Dems?
Really? I mean really? How stupid does Russia think we are?
Elect Russia's second choice in the 2016 election? in 2020?
I don't think so.....

(449 posts)And I will not be swayed by any spreading of negativity or chaos. With the turtle and his ilk still in the Senate we need to create a huge a blue wave and keep it up for multiple election cycles. These treason weasels need to be put out of government and our democracy retrieved.

(279 posts)They supported him solely because that would sow discord among the dems and make it more likely that Trump would win. That has always seemed obvious to me.

(4,341 posts)we will need the support of the Bernie followers, but if we start with the discord, which by the way is what Russia and the buffoon want, it will be very difficult to get them to support the democratic nominee.
I feel that the discussion needs to be a careful one where we discuss the issues through analysis and intellectual arguments, making sure that we do not cause discord among the different groups who support, at this time, the many candidates who, in my opinion, are all very good and no doubt that they are all a mile better than the buffoon and his cronies.

(30,717 posts)that we need them. I am not going to walk on eggshells to get someone's support. Bernie voters are supposed to be adults who know what is at stake. If they don't, there is little I can do about it.

(11,726 posts)Russia wanted to disrupt the election and did not want Clinton to win at any cost. They supported Trump and used the division between Clinton and Sanders supporters to hurt Clinton. Sanders was not the second choice. They would have gone after Sanders had he won the primary.
Sander's rhetoric is very popular. He is espousing ideas that resonate with many of the people. My issue with Bernie is that he has had a blind spot for issues of race and gender and that his ideas are vague and not fleshed out into policies. This discussion about Sanders being "Russia's second choice" is ridiculous.

(11,514 posts)In these treacherous time, Democrats require a candidate who can unite as many of us as possible in our diverse party. I don't believe someone who refuses to even join the Democratic Party possesses that basic requisite of being a party unifier. Another term of Trump will end our republic. Let's not be naive.

(26,251 posts)Not sure it has anything to do with Bernie. Had it been a different Democrat going head to head with her, they likely would have wanted them, too. Had Bernie won the nomination, Russia would likely still have thrown their interference to trump*'s advantage.
IMHO, of course.

(2,828 posts)Vladimir Putin is a KGB trained ratfucker. He is highly trained in ratfucking anything and anyone that can be ratfucked. You can damn well bet that he is going to do his very best to ratfuck our elections in 2020. He's also very adept at extortion, too. That's all he knows. Ratfuck America, and he's winning. We spend $700,000,000,000 every year for defense and he's kicking our ass with an office of hacker boys laughing at our gullibility and the ease that we are manipulated.
I'm not going to bash Bernie any more than I'm going to bash Kamala or Joe or Pete or Elizabeth or Amy or any of the others running for the Democratic nomination for president. They all have good policy and legislative ideas. The Russian ratfucking campaign is alive and well. I will listen, do my due diligence and make a choice during the primary in my state. Whoever wins the nomination is the candidate I will vote support and vote for. Trump and the republicans have to go, one way or another for this country (not to mention the rest of the planet) to have any semblance of a future.
We have to stop thinking of politics and our candidates as sporting events and our favorite athletes. Support your candidate but, after 7/16/2020 there will only be one. No whining or sulking. We all have to happily and strongly unite for that candidate and all other democratic candidates down the ballot, en masse. and we must tell any 3rd party plants to fuck right off!
Putin favors republicans because he knows they are corrupt and value their personal power and money above all else. They are easy marks.
