i agree the campaign season is absurdly long, especially in THIS day and age where information is disseminated so easily. If anything the campaign should be SHORTER since the candidate does not need time travel all over the country to me and you to get to know them. If I want to know about Harris can use the internet to watch any of her speeches, go to her website to learn her positions, come to a place like DU and read threads about her...... not like the early 1900s where I likely knew nothing about a candidate other than a few articles in a newspaper, unless i went to an in person speech on a whistle-stop tour.

But the problem is it costs SO MUCH money to run now that candidates need to declare earlier and earlier to start fund raising or they will fall behind in the most important thing any campaign has these days: money to advertise on TV.

Could beat him in 2012? President Obama had not even been swoon in. That was when I realized campaigns would be constant from now on. I am so sick of the continuous campaigning loop we are in now.
