44. Well, it undermines the severity and horrific nature of what was done.

The intentional murder of thousands of innocent people, and taking down the main finance buildings in NYC, all of which had a larger effect on many more people who lived in the area or were first responders, who got serious medical conditions for life, or died.

To say that the terrorists who did that were some people who did something, doesn't acknowledge or identify it with the gravity of what the "something" was, IMO.

I understand that what was done was not the main point of her statement, so she referenced it in passing to move on to the main point, but nonetheless, .....

It would be comparable to telling a mother whose baby was horribly murdered, that the guy who did something to her family a while back is not representative of his religion or race. The statement to the mother may be technically correct, but insensitive in the way it refers to her baby being murdered.

That's my take on it. She's new in Congress and not used to speaking nationally. She is in the learning stages of how things come across, as opposed to her intent. It's tough. Even experienced politicians make a lot of gaffes (ask Biden!).

But I don't think she's worried about Trump's tweets. She knows any time she makes public statements about her religion or Israel or the Israeli lobby, that it's going to make waves and be on the news and probably be the subject of Trump tweets. She's using her time in Congress for her issues and wants the message put out there. She's unique, so she gets more coverage than some others. So she's using it. Most people would.
