If the Mueller report is not released, Pelosi should move to impeach

When Nancy Pelosi said she was inclined not to impeach Donald Trump, she said it in a context where no evidence of a crime existed yet.

And now, we have a report that may contain the answer to whether Donald Trump obstructed justice.
The house of representatives has the authority to determine whether obstruction of justice occurred.

In the absence of this report, Nancy Pelosi should move to open impeachment hearings against the president of the United States.

They start with a lawsuit to press for the release. If they don’t get that then they subpoena Mueller and/or members of the team. One or both of those things will either confirm the no-collusion summary or it won’t.

If they do confirm that... then they can continue to fight in court, but impeachment would be suicide. It wouldn’t even get enough votes to send it to the Senate. If they can’t win getting the report, then ther have to wait on their own investigation to develope a case.

Right now, it has zero chance of removing the president from office. Zero. It has less of a chance now than it did before the Barr fabricated memo, and it had no chance then.

Continue the investigations, continue putting pressure on Barr to release the report, and let the other jurisdictions do their jobs and continue to make connections between Trump, his family, his organization, and others.

We're going to need more than we presently have for impeachment to be anything more than a fairy tale. It's not some magic solution that's going to fix everything, particularly when it's doomed to failure, as it is at present.

that the house controls the purse so cut off DOJ funding and Barrs salary if they do not surrender the report intact.

The “controls the purse” is true in theory, but in reality it’s just that spending bills start with them. Any change they make in budget for the AG would only take effect if the Senate agreed and the President signed it.

Obviously that won’t happen... and if they shut down the government (by not passing a spending bill in time) for that? Well... it would be the first time that the public blamed us for a shutdown.
