Mueller Report: If someone could please explain a few things....

The Justice Department will not release the report to the public at this time. Does that mean that elected officials in the House and Senate do not have access to a non-redacted report?

If Senators and Representatives do have access to a non-redacted report, what is stopping one of them from making the report public? Or has a non-redacted report not been provided to our elected officials? For that matter, if Mueller is the courageous patriot as he has been portrayed, why hasn’t’t he sent a copy to the New York Times and Washington Post?

Why can’t someone in this government get a copy of tax returns and make them public?

This is a taxpayer funded report documenting factual information.

I don’t understand the secrecy. I cant help but wonder if this is how the Romans felt near the end....

1. Congress does not yet have it, in any form

The report may contain classified info, or grand jury info that can't be released without a court order, so Mueller can't publish it publicly.

The House is demanding the full report and the underlying materials by April 2nd. For now we wait.

worse than the crime.

Did you ever wonder why so many people - including Trump - have been acting guilty through this whole thing?

3. at the moment, at least, getting mueller to speak before a house committee would seems best.

barr will slow-walk everything and ultimately turn out another b.s. summary or maybe a hugely redacted report.

mueller, on the other hand, might just be seriously pissed off about how two years of his life in the most public role of his lifetime is being swept under the rug.

he won't be able to reveal classified information from the report publicly, or be able to reveal grand jury details, as another poster noted, but he might be far more forthcoming with other information from the report than barr.

But I can’t help but think of all the men and women that have sacrificed their lives for this American Experiment. When I hear words like “classified” or “court order” I simply don’t care.

I am aware that words are cheap, and that my opinion means nothing, but I would like to think that in the event I were in the position to publicize, I would do it and damn the consequences.

6. You don't hold Republican politics above the rule of law the way Republicans currently do.

They are increasingly ignoring the law in their manic grab for dictatorship of the US.
