(70,095 posts)on obstruction of justice for Trump (instead of Mueller doing it).
Yet, Barr had already determined Trump had not obstructed justice. It is going to be ugly. But as you say, we have strong Democrats to fight the good fight.

(5,995 posts)That was his resume for getting the AG job. This was prewired.
Note the key word in the conspiracy portion, no coordination with the Russian GOVERNMENT was found. Without the underlings linking Trump to Putin, that isn't proven for criminal court.
The House committees will be able to have public testimony making it obvious what happened, that's what brought Nixon down.

(595 posts)there is still so much to learn from the ENTIRE report. I think it is in bad taste to bash muellar until we know the entire report. just b/c something did not go the way we had hoped does not mean that due diligence was not performed. Some folks need to take a deep breath...

(15,638 posts)wrap up his report despite not having interviewed or subpoenaed Kushner, tRump Jr, Ivanka or tRump himself??
Personally, I wouldnt be surprised by anything at this point. This is a massive scandal with lots at stake (more than most of us could imagine). I wouldnt be surprised if lives are at stake somewhere in this intrigue.
We need to get to the bottom of it.

(3,065 posts)The report has been released. No collusion was found, thank God.
The investigation was handled professionally. There's nothing there.
LET IT GO. MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIVES.
There are other investigations going on. We'll see what they find in due time.

(15,638 posts)Any Democrat wants this asshat out of office but I am staying away from the conspiracy theories... Yes, we need to see the full report and then draw conclusions but to bash Muellar when the full report is not available is ridiculous.
We don't have to find the results satisfactory to our wants and wishes. We need to get the fing vote out and get th is clown out of office.
SDNY is still key... Let them investigate until the cows come home but blaming Muellar is really misguided as things stand now.
KPN
(15,638 posts)So you don't think Whittaker and/or Barr were pressuring Mueller to wrap things up, eh? That's awfully rusting of the party and people who brought you ... let's see, near normalization of the white supremacist movement, dismantling of ACA, trillion $ tax cuts for gazillionaires, gaslighting the global warming issue, etc,. etc., etc.
Geesh.

(30,613 posts)We only know what Barr claims Mueller did, and Barr has already demonstrated his dishonesty: first during Iran-Contra, and more recently with his "The President can't commit obstruction" claim.

(17,984 posts)It was necessary for them to get the narrative right at the outset. Now the country knows that Rump didn't do it. Our attorney general has said so. That just steepened the grade for us in this uphill battle.

While certain people here have never ceased to whine that our warrior Dems are not doing or saying anything -- these 4 and others have battled every damn day.

(20,219 posts)Is the media the conservatives manipulate and own. Its why its so hard to get any complex facts and correlations across to dumpsters. The media makes it impossible for the side of reality to get a word in edgewise.
Hekate
(90,565 posts)Unfortunately, there is a very very vocal minority here who have their minds made up that:
1) no media at all is reporting the facts
2) no elected Democrats are speaking out
3) no elected Dems are doing anything of value
4) in a Congress that runs on majority/minority and seniority rules for committee apointments and chairmanships, we should just throw out all of our Dems and start over
Periodically they take a short break. Then they start all over again. This is one of those times.
