Federal Prosecutors in California Are Now Looking Into Trump's Inaugural Committee

Federal investigators in California are currently looking into allegations of misconduct and corruption by members of President Donald Trump‘s inaugural committee.

According to The New York Times, the U.S. Department of Justice is currently probing “the business and political dealings” of top Trump fundraiser Elliot Broidy–who allegedly attempted to use his close relationship with the 45th president’s campaign to promote his own business interests.

Per a prior report by the Times:

After Mr. Trump’s election, Mr. Broidy quickly capitalized, marketing his Trump connections to politicians and governments around the world, including some with unsavory records, according to interviews and documents obtained by The New York Times. Mr. Broidy suggested to clients and prospective customers of his Virginia-based defense contracting company, Circinus, that he could broker meetings with Mr. Trump, his administration and congressional allies.

Los Angeles-based investigators are part of this ongoing investigation and have raised specific questions about the inaugural committee, per anonymous sources cited by the outlet who are said to be familiar with the matter.

The Robert Mueller chapter may be closed for now, but other chapters to this book are in process.

For what Mueller uncovered, he passed on to other entities to have jurisdiction over pertaining to Russia and following the money. Trump's legal problems just got WORSE.

investigation in order to make it pardon proof. It also set it up so that no one person or entity will be responsible for the indictment and prosecution of various individuals. It's brilliant really. In other good news an online privacy group is suing to make the entire report public. It's all going to come out one way or another.

As for the staff he put together as well. I suspect they still will be on this behind the scenes so when the shit does hit the fan, they will have the evidence to back it all up.

And we haven't even seen the Mueller report yet so we can't say it contains bad news, either.

produce indictments at any time.

We are at no different a position with regard to indictments than we were last week. Mueller's work has been farmed out to prosecutors from Los Angeles to New York, and in between.

The trove of hacked documents shows that Broidy, a Republican fundraiser, and his wife engaged in contract negotiations to represent Jho Low in 2017, after Trump became president. The emails included talking points to be used with the White House explaining why the U.S. should drop its probe. One draft contract called for Broidy’s wife’s firm to make $75 million if it succeeded. That number closely matches the amount the government is seeking from Higginbotham-related accounts in its forfeiture lawsuit....

Elliot Broidy

I am delighted to announce the addition of these longtime friends of the Party and supporters of this administration to our Finance leadership team,” said Chairwoman McDaniel. “Elliott Broidy, Michael Cohen, and Louis DeJoy will serve as National Deputy Finance Chairmen….”

Tom Barrack and Elliot Broidy slipped major $$$ to Rick Gates in 2017:

Former Trump campaign official Rick Gates was paid tens of thousands of dollars in 2017 by a company headed by a leading Republican fundraiser and a firm headed by Donald Trump's inaugural committee chairman for help navigating the new administration, even as Gates was under criminal investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller, a new report says.

The New York Times article raises questions of why the two men, Elliott Broidy and Thomas Barrack, each of whom had close ties to the Republican Party and, in Barrack's case, to the president himself, were paying a lobbyist like Gates for guidance on how to deal with the new administration.

A sealed search warrant obtained by ProPublica shows federal agents scoured Elliott Broidy’s office for documents related to China, Saudi Arabia and a Miami Beach club promoter.

Federal authorities raided the office of Republican fundraiser Elliott Broidy last summer, seeking records related to his dealings with foreign officials and Trump administration associates, according to a sealed search warrant obtained by ProPublica.
