President Hillary Clinton.
I think a lot of people dismiss her outright, and I'm not so sure that's a good idea. She's a tried and true winner against him. Imagine the ass-kicking she'd deliver trump. I think she won before, and, I think she's heard enough feedback in the last two years to know what to do to tune up her game to be even better. I miss her, and I think she could be the redemption we all seek. Plus, she's not afraid to really really smoke trump, and be able to point out exactly the things she warned us about before.
How can Democrats just move ahead and leave Mrs. C behind? She's been the model of grace. I think her running again is the LEAST this country could do. She deserved her win last time. Her experience in the State Dept and Healthcare, and all things, is exactly what we need. Who cares if the gop doesn't like her? WHO CARES? If they love Liberal tears so much....let's turn on the gop water-works as well, and all of us come back to our senses.
All these new people are great! But, I think they should in all fairness, run as her VP, and get America back to being the land of justice, and equality, and fairness, we always knew her to be.
She's still better than anyone imho.
P.S. President Clinton if you read this, you're dear to my heart.

(12,344 posts)I can agree that Hillary deserves to be President while also recognizing she will never make it. It's time for someone else. I don't want to do 2016 again. It wasn't fun.

(12,344 posts)American history is a long record of stupid votes, corrupt bargains and ugly truths. Trump won because of a corrupt bargain made 230 years ago. I told you it wasn't fair.
We have the misfortune of living through the dumbest Presidential campaign ever. 2020 will not be much better. To win, we are going to need somebody who can win at the rules as they are now, which requires skills Hillary doesn't have.
The most qualified doesn't always win. Clearly.
It's has to be someone who can both shake up our country and go toe to toe with Trump in all his narcissistic cruelty.

(12,344 posts)But I think if we have a candidate that can beat Trump at his own game, it will be a joy to watch. They will need to be able to write and sell their own media narrative. As Obama did.
I actually think Buttigieg is the best at that, but he may not be well known or experienced enough to make it. Sanders did it, but he probably won't appeal to a diverse enough electorate.
I'm backing Inslee for now, because he is writing a narrative around climate change, which I believe is the most important issue of our time. It's a smart move, he's creating his own lane, and making it about policy not personality. It could work.

(23,002 posts)I had an opinion. Maybe she needs some love? God forbid you ever suffer a loss like her. NONE of us know how she feels. Encouragement from one person shouldn't tip you over.
We suffer endless Bernie posts here everyday, just saying.

(53,410 posts)Threads about him are cogent.
And Hillary gets nothing but love from DU, even if we dont want a repeat of 2016.

(23,002 posts)This is a Democratic Page i thought. If he's the nominee, then I'd agree more w the 'cogent' aspect. Just me though.

(42,641 posts)I too supported Sanders in the primaries, and Clinton in the election.

(23,002 posts)That was then, this is now though. Once the gop found out we'd find money for free school and healthcare they stole the election and helped themselves to our money. I see a lot of grace and contrition on the part of Pres Clinton. Bernie, not so much. And that's not meant as a slam. We can't have another 4 of trump. I'm not trying to stir up anything other than some true deep introspection about what we are going to do.

(4,986 posts)She wouldn't even win the primaries this time around.
The country has had enough of the hate machine that spins relentlessly concerning the Clintons.
Your post strikes me as being either naive or sarcastic. I can't decide which.

I think at least if she wants to run again it's up to her. i see joe biden hasn't said yes, but the primary threads have him as though he has. (One of the choices.) If wanting justice for someone who won is naive, then...I don't know what to tell you. Hillary won by 3 million votes. I disagree with your assessment but that's fine. She's served this country in many capacities. I don't think it's such a big stretch. I know a lot of folks don't like her. I do.
EDIT...If she wins again will you accept her then? Just curious. The lady already won an election, and shouldnt have to run again. maybe we should Put THAT to a vote in the general, whether HRC should be allowed to do her 4 years before the newly elected person does. I know I know...dreaming. Just throwing stuff out there.
