Republicans are 'so scared' of challenge to Trump they're changing primary rules: Conservative colum

The Washington Post’s conservative columnist told MSNBC on Friday that Republicans were terrified of a primary challenger to President Donald Trump, and explained how the party was going to extreme lengths to prevent anyone from entering the field.

Host Craig Melvin asked Rubin for her read on Maryland’s Republican Governor Larry Hogan, who’s coyly said he’s considering a primary challenge if “the president’s political standing within his own party weakens dramatically.”

“One thing that is significant is Republicans are so scared of a challenger, they’re attempting to change the rules in some of these primaries to make it more difficult for someone to compete,” she said. “That suggests that they’re nervous about the president’s standing.

which attacked us on 911, they love this traitor so much they will all but destroy their party to keep him in power.

Therefore, I submit to all, the GOP is an enemy of the USA and we are still not acting like it.

They've allowed propaganda to convince them that 60% of this country are their enemies. They are vastly outnumbered. Whether at the ballot box or the battlefield, they lose.

Of all the concerns we are facing, I believe being nuked by Saudi Arabia is pretty far down the list. The clear and present dangers are domestic in nature.

right over the cliff, like a bunch of little lemmings. Where are the ones that trashed tRump continuously during the GOP primaries ... hiding under his coattails, afraid of their rabid constituents ... so willing to destroy the country and the GOP for his 2020 run it seems.

The startling lengths that establishment Republicans are willing to go for Trump defy explanation. They're either in total thrall to Trump's perceived greatness, or there's information out there so damaging to the party that maintaining the charade is all they can do even though they know it's doomed to failure. In that case, they're just putting off the swing of the million pound shithammer as best they can for as long as they can, but they know it's coming.
