Swarm Theory: A good model to describe GOP priorities and support of Trump

Wkipedia defines Swarm Theory as "the collective behavior of decentralized, self-organized systems, natural or artificial. ".

The GOP clearly has no conscience. They have no set of core values they draw upon to guide their every day activities. They don't have a central command and control system. There is a feedback loop, which includes rwm, but there is no central control authority; certainly not trump.

What they have is positive motivators; money and power. They also have negative motivators; anyone they perceive as enemies (dems/non white/non male/non protestant/etc) as well as fear of losing money or power.

So with each member behaving as part of a swarm, their support of trump, even in the face of ignoring the constitution, laws, and whatever values they preached loudly last year - makes perfect sense. They are just supporting their positive motivators and attacking their negative motivators.

They don't care about anything but power, money, and hatred of others.

You have to understand this to understand their behavior. Right now, the swarm is clearly surrounding trump, protecting him. The only way to move it is to threaten one of their motivators and link trump to that threat.

A long winded way of saying we can't appeal to their conscience, or patriotism, or faith. We have to use their very nature to get them to move away from trump.

Not easy. But not impossible.
