(33,554 posts)it forces the GOP and McConnell to vote FOR the Emergency. Which screws them, or makes them vote against Trump.
This is a big vote.

(10,437 posts)place GOP on the defense to take the hit for trump.....constitution does not limit the times you can pass articles of impeachment.
This might BE a good first move. As a significant majority of American voters see trumps move as WRONG

(10,437 posts)its a win-win for democrats.
The 4-6 weeks of hearings into emergency powers in the house for the articles of impeachment and presidential declarations....maybe throw in executive orders AND signing statements....
vote to pass the articles of Impeachment and let McConnel defend trump in the Senate trial.
MAKE this the story for 2-4 months...and then we can do the same when Mueller's report issues findings, when House subcommittees issues their findings.
Lets have impeachment party every 4 months until 2020 election

(16,783 posts)As she goes on the offense with this resulting to stop Donald Trump. This will pass the House, even with some Republican votes for it.
It will then go to the US Senate with a Democratic Party majority vote. If no Republicans vote for this, it will say LOUDLY that Republicans have abdicated their responsibilities to a man who wants absolute power. The Legislative branch be damned. Mitch McConnell's life is about to get interesting.
