https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/theres-yet-another-trump-administration-scandal-brewing-and-its-a-doozy-opinion/ar-BBTSwAD?ocid=spartanntpThat the Trump administration is deeply, profoundly corrupt is not in question. But there are layers to that corruption that we have barely begun to explore. We are now learning of an absolutely shocking story that shows how so many people in Donald Trumps orbit see his presidency as an opportunity for personal enrichment, and how that corruption may be warping U.S. policy.
There are jaw-dropping revelations on just about every page of a 24-page report just issued by the House Oversight Committee, based on information provided to them by multiple whistleblowers within the Trump administration. But Ill do my best to break down the story and its implications. It stars a cast of familiar and not-so-familiar characters including former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, Trump buddy and billionaire investor Tom Barrack, and even Jared Kushner, the presidents son-in-law.
We begin with a company called IP3 International, described as a private company that has assembled a consortium of U.S. companies to build nuclear plants in Saudi Arabia. IP3, which has an all-star team of former generals and federal officials on its staff and board, was pushing hard on the Trump administration to approve its plan to build these reactors despite the lengthy process required to transfer nuclear technology abroad. And according to the Oversight Committees report, they had help:
A key proponent of this nuclear effort was General Michael Flynn, who described himself in filings as an advisor to a subsidiary of IP3, IronBridge Group Inc., from June 2016 to December 2016 at the same time he was serving as Donald Trumps national security advisor during the presidential campaign and the presidential transition. According to the whistleblowers, General Flynn continued to advocate for the adoption of the IP3 plan not only during the transition, but even after he joined the White House as President Trumps National Security Advisor.

(7,142 posts)people in the Trump administration and private industry working to get Saudi Arabia nuclear weapons, the news is going to be that Iran is doing its war games now. Iran is preparing to be invaded.
There was a day when Israel would be up in arms if Saudi Arabia were to get nuclear weapons. Bibi has cut a deal with SA, has partnered with SA to take out Iran. What Bibi doesn't understand is that SA won't stop with Iran.

Gen Michael Flynn and Gen Benedict Arnold both started out as patriots who served their country well.
Arnold died a traitor in England.
He was not lucky enough to have a Donald Trump on his side.

(10,119 posts)beyond reasonable doubt. He's certainly got enough evidence to suggest that is probably what happened but it remains to be seen if he can prove it in a criminal court.
Financial crimes, like Manafort & Cohen and Al Capone found out, are much easier to prove. The activity with IP3 is just more brazen stupidity. All the need are state level financial crimes so he cannot pardon them.
I do not see how he can sustain being a candidate for 2020 with all this crap on his horizon.

(18,967 posts)This group of criminals running our government have spent their whole lives cooking the books and skimming money. They've never dreamed of getting the keys the biggest safe in human history. Mark my words, we will never be able to figure out how and how much they stole. And people are under the impression that it's a bottomless pit, it is not, they can cook the books enough to take it all. When Trump and his band of parasites are gone, they'll be taking $Hundreds of Billions with them or perhaps more.
We will never get to the bottom of how much was stolen and where it went.

(36,413 posts)I resisted believing that a lot of their motivation is pissing off liberals, but it seems to be true for a large segment of the MAGAs, that pissing off the left is worth voting against their best interests.

(12,232 posts)dinner.
There was wide reporting about how during the dinner Trump sat down at his designated seat, gesticulated at Putin, then went over to Putin and talked to him for around an hour.
What wasnt reported on so far as I can tell was what immediately preceded that. Trump had been engaged in what looked like a fairly intense discussion with the Saudis, then he (overly casually) ambled to his seat, then immediately gestured to Putin.
Something was going on, though what I do not know.

Then it flips back to earlier and you can see that the conversation with the Saudis appeared to go on for some time and Trump was very engaged.
