Judge doesnt throw Roger Stone in jail, instead hands him an even worse punishment
Judge Amy Berman Jackson decided not to revoke Roger Stones bail today and send him to jail. But she instead handed Stone what, for him, is an even worse punishment: shes made him irrelevant for the rest of his life.
[ ... ]
This means that Roger Stone, ever the publicity hound, is now irrelevant. No more provocative Instagram posts. No more interviews. No more Infowars appearances. Hes finished. He can still go home and go out to dinner and such, but we all know his nature, and hell quickly incriminate himself in a manner which will ensure his conviction. Hell also quickly violate this full gag order, meaning hell go to jail. This is Roger Stones worst nightmare.

(33,315 posts)That Palmer Report article gave me a lift. I was disappointed Stone didn't go to jail. He's addicted to the attention, so it will be torture for him until he finally cracks.

(32,078 posts)I was really hoping he'd get locked up, but yes, making him irrelevant is probably worse than going to jail. He'll wind up there soon enough, anyway.

(37,648 posts)Get that: Roger Stone, the arrogant narcissist who famously said it's better to be known for evil than not known at all, was begging like a toad. She granted him his wish.
Now he has to give his statements through someone else. He's still out there, free to be seen, free to be heard through the voices of others.
In jail, where he would really have been silenced, as well as physically put away, he would have been irrelevant.
This is baffling, why she didn't throw him in the slammer to await trial.

(959 posts)His supporters believe there is an underground complex of chained children under a one story metro pizza joint. Id say a good portion of em also think the earth is flat, but anyway.
At least now he gets the rope to legally hang himself since we all know he can't keep out of the spotlight

(7,627 posts)In some jurisdictions, poor people who cant pay their fine on small infractions and can't afford to pay the bond end up waiting for months in jail. If you are rich and privileged, you get to sit it out in your nice home.
