Sensata workers protest at Romney campaign event in Bettendorf, Iowa

Workers facing outsourcing by Bain Capital at the Sensata Technologies plant in Freeport, Ill., and supportive community members protested Aug. 22 outside presumptive Republican nominee for president Mitt Romney’s campaign event at a manufacturing facility in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Inside the event, workers raised a banner urging Romney, the former Bain CEO, to help save their jobs and asked him directly whether he would intervene to stop their jobs from being outsourced. Romney didn’t respond — making this the second time he has ignored questions about Sensata at campaign events.

<snip>

Aug. 13, Romney’s campaign staff called the police on Sensata workers trying to deliver their letter at the campaign’s headquarters in Madison, Wis.

Meanwhile, public support for the workers’ campaign continues to grow. In July, the Freeport City Council unanimously passed a resolution calling on Romney to come meet the workers and use his influence at Bain to intervene on their behalf. Aug. 21, U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill., joined the workers to deliver a petition with more than 35,000 signatures to Bain’s offices in Evanston, Ill.

Sentence: "Romney’s campaign staff called the police on Sensata workers trying to deliver their letter at the campaign’s headquarters in Madison, Wis."

It provides no details. It could have been two people with an envelope or, more likely, a large shouting crowd with signs on wooden sticks (potential weapons). When a potentially dangerous situation is developing, call for backup.

Remember, Obama's campaign offices have been invaded and trashed by left wingers, supposed on the same side. Police were called then too. It happened before the incident in Madison.

It is likely the Romney headquarters would have been very stupid to not call the police, but we don't know based on the information in that sentence. That doesn't stop people from jumping all over it and condemning it.

The news from local areas is not being reported well. They leave a lot to the imagination, to be filled in by other experiences and view points. And most of the time they don't even give the state that the stories are taking place in, as if they don't expect anyone from out of state or another country, even, to view the stories. So many place names are duplicated that it's very hard to guess where they are taking place. And one would fill in this story as one's filter and life experiences would do. It goes from being complete propaganda like FNN to almost nothing. Thanks.
