Do Democratic political office candidates read our threads and comments on DU?

Offices like the House, Senate or POTUS? And does what we say here significantly impact their policy positions?

Just curious what people think about that question.

Here is a Politico article from 10 years ago: https://www.politico.com/blogs/on-congress/2009/11/ford-vs-gillibrand-023053

This story was then picked up by other media outlets including the NY Post and the Today Show.

from presidential/primary campaigns than the local congresscritter... Of course this was a more innocent time when staffers had no reservations against signing up for DU and openly introducing themselves...

Granted our influence and numbers have waned because of other sites and social media, but during the George W. Bush years (I've been here since '02), this was THE place... The epicenter for all things liberal...

Alan Grayson used to post for a while when he was in Congress. Thom Hartmann did, too. I'm sure some staffers look in on occasion. I used to send particularly interesting posts to Howard Dean myself, and he saw them, but he doesn't join or follow blogs. At any rate, one look at all the nasty snippy infghting over petty issues is probably enough to send any serious candidate running back to Rachel's Facebook page, never to return here.

Alan Grayson also came here and took a few questions. Follow his wife Dr. Dena Grayson on Twitter. She is terrific all over Trump/Russia.

and without naming names, because they'll reveal themselves there *ARE* a couple of heavy hitters in the Dem party who are daily contributors...

And when I say "heavy hitters" I mean "Lunch with Hillary" type of stuff

He will talk about threads on DU on the air frequently. In fact I think that may be why he decided to leave his relationship with RT.
