Can anyone tell me why...

The entire Executive Branch of Virginia state government is five-alarm Major Scandal territory and eating news cycle after news cycle because:

The Governor's racist behavior from medical school was highlighted and he responded in an embarrassingly inept way; and

The Lite Goob has been accused of sexual something-or-other by someone and is bitterly denying it and calling for a full investigation to clear himself of the charges and has referred to his accuser in private with opprobrious and arguably sexist epithets; and

The Attorney General called a meeting and released a statement admitting to racist behavior in his past, too.

BUT

The entire Executive Branch of the United States government is a reeking sewer of uncountable, well-evidenced and egregious incidents past AND present, demonstrating rampant and unashamed racism, misogyny, corruption, personal greed, contempt for the truth and criminal negligence, and it's, like, ho-hum, so what?

Can anyone tell me that?

'Cause I seriously want to know.

disgustedly,
Bright

1. Because they're Republicans

And Republicans won't hold their people accountable for anything because they don't care about anything other than holding power.

Trump is going to survive because the Republican party is terrified of its own voters.

That's the entire reason we are where we are. I promise you that if McConnell knew how to get Pence in the Oval Office without burning his entire party to the ground, it would have happened by now.

has been dug up to try and install a republican as governor. They are trying to trash everyone in the road to a Republican governor, who was not elected by the people. I don't agree with what they did, but it sure looks like they are trying to orchestrate a takeover.

Who's been bought off there?

Why is the media doing the Major Scandal Wallpaper coverage on these state-level grifters while giving the much bigger, sleazier and MORE OBVIOUS grifters on the national level the equivalent of a slide?

19. Dotard Fatigue?

That's my guess. For the last two years it's been non-stop dropping of Dump-related bombs: his insane tweets, his corrupt Cabinet's musical chairs and firings/resignations, the Russia investigation, tell-all books, leaks, leaks, leaks, and on and on and on...

Single incidents that would have torpedoed any previous politician or appointee barely last three days in the news cycle. There's always a new bomb or tweeted lie to take it's place. It's been impossible to keep track of all of it. And very few of the perpetrators have suffered any real consequences. Yet.

I utterly despise him and his minions, am disgusted by what they have done and continue to do, and can't wait to see them all frog-marched off to holding.

But I am tired. So tired of this constant crisis cycle. It's wearing me down. I think it's wearing a lot of people down. We want to see the hammer come down, but we have to be patient and let Mueller finish his work. I have total faith in Mueller and his team, but it's been difficult to remain patient for this long, already. I am emotionally worn the eff down.

What's going on in VA is not only a shiny, new, non-Dotard related scandal, it also presses a lot of hot buttons. What gets people more fired up and bickering at each other than racism and sexual assault? It's crack for journalists and their viewers/readers. Views and clicks = money. The news organizations are scooping up ratings ($), even from the people who sigh and switch the channel when yet another Dump Admin scandal or tweet hits (and it will, because it's a day ending in -y).

What will ultimately happen in VA can only be, and should only be, decided by the people of VA. Wall to wall national coverage serves no purpose, unless you are profiting off of it in some way (whether financially or through shady political maneuvering).
Just my two cents.

While the Virginia Gov. and Lt Gov. were apparently low hanging fruit, the effort to unearth any scandal possible to subvert Democracy and install one of their own is entirely republican. They know very well that the media will always hold Democrats to higher standards out of a false sense of 'fairness'. (can't only talk about republican scandals lest the public think they have liberal bias, dontcha know)

Watch for this ratfuckery to extend to our Democratic candidates for president. Elizabeth Warren is already being treated to it and will likely have to withdraw from the race. My fear is that this will also eliminate any chance of her getting reelected as my Senator.

I only wonder whose turn it is next in their barrel, to paraphrase Roger Stone.
