Oh Dan Crenshaw...

You might want to stay in your lane, bro. Your cute little attempt at shade throwing regarding a 70% marginal tax rate on the unnecessarily super rich didn't go over so well. AOC schooled your ignorant ass by using actual facts.

If you haven't seen the exchange between the hyper intelligent AOC and the "i don't know how in the fuck this douche got elected" wannabe who "represents" my district, i encourage you to check it out. These redumblican "men" keep lobbing these softballs to AOC and she keeps CRUSHING them out of the park. You would think these knuckle dragging goobers would learn, but then again, they are redumblicans. They are either incapable or unwilling to crack a book, or hell, just Google some shit.

I love watching her as she continues to be the much needed spear in the side of this elephant. My fanboy crush is growing, not just for her, but for this entire freshman class. Don't let up!!!

"GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw Scorched After Mansplaining Border Security To Expert"

snip..."The woman he aimed to school, Juliette Kayyem, is a national security expert and former assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security"

More at HuffPo. This story fell under the radar.

This guy is showing a pattern of behavior towards women who ate accomplished and in positions of expertise and authority.

...that punch through the propaganda and lazy thinking.

Fer' instance, when they treat 70+% as some kinda crazy idea, how many know that out of the 107 years we've had the income tax, 50 of them had top rates at or over 70%?

Note the top marginal rate in the late '80s: the same for any income above $57,000 (in today's dollars!).

The very image of unfairness, which is why Republicans love it - especially the ones earning less than that, amazingly.

Thank you for posting this.

...when passing the latest tax deform under Trump. Nearly a flat tax, only two brackets, with the dividing line around median family income.

The last wheezing gasp of Republican "fiscal responsibility" was Poppy Bush reneging on his "read my lips" pledge and signing a hike (inadequate as it was).

And conservatives never forgave him for it.

Then of course he thought luring Saddam into invading Kuwait would save him from that fracas, and guarantee him reelection. But for once, crime didn't pay.

Some of their ideas may not be workable, but they are pushing for things that are mostly a return to the achievements of Roosevelt’s New Deal. Beginning with Reagan, Republicans have been tearing down the policies, and financial protections, of the New Deal one by one. The pendulum needs to swing back. Average people are tired of voting for people who do nothing for the country, or worse, pass laws that harm them.

I see AOC and her compatriots as an effort to begin wresting control of our government from corporations and the ultra wealthy who act as though they have all the rights and everyone just needs to pay tribute to them. If you just want to stay in the middle and never push for change, then you never achieve change. And we need serious change! Some might argue for incremental change, but I’m not one of them. We need real change that starts rebuilding workers’ ability pport families without having to resort to two and three jobs.

Republicunts get crazy when they are asked to tax the ultra wealthy, but never forget Saint Ronny put the federal tax on Social Security. These are people on average receiving $26,000 per year they paid into while working their entire lives. Actually "physically" working to build this country, and served this country in wars, to a point of physical disabilities in their retirement years. Not inheriting billions from lying, thieving, scamming parents. The damn president does not, has not ever, "Worked" a day. Any bets on physical work days trump spawn have ever completed?
