OP
Joining a network generally indicates that someone is OUT of politics for good, right?

TALLAHASSEE An ethics complaint against former Tallahassee mayor and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum is moving forward after state officials found probable cause on five of six counts that Gillum violated ethics laws by allegedly accepting gifts during trips with lobbyists in 2016.
Though records in the case have not yet been made public by the state Commission on Ethics, Gillums lawyer Barry Richard said Friday after the closed-door hearing at the First District Court of Appeal that the case would next go before an administrative law judge, likely in the next 45 to 60 days.
Were going to have a full evidentiary hearing before an independent judge. Itll be open to the public, and everybody can decide for themselves, he told reporters. There for sure will be no settlement.

But I wish he was running for office.

Maybe there is an exception or two, but I think this move usually means that someone has decided to never run for office again.

(80,700 posts)9. Not necessarily. Look at John Kasich.
Could also give Gillum a larger platform and higher visibility. And hes still pretty young. Hes far from done.

(10,533 posts)8. This makes me sad.
He is brilliant and could have a bright political future, but instead he's going to be a talking head on Jeff Zucker's cable news/reality TV shitshow.
