Howard Schultz is getting his name on ballots in all 50 states as an Independent.

Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz tells @60Minutes Donald Trump is not qualified to be president and both parties aren't doing what's necessary for the American people.

He's getting absolutely trashed over on WaPo and on his new Twitter account. He says Trump isn't qualified, well, what in the hell makes him think HE is? Another egotistical narcissist.

It's official: @HowardSchultz is preparing to run for president as an independent. "Republicans and Democrats alike — who no longer see themselves as part of the far extreme of the far right and the far left — are looking for a home

Howard Schultz and John Delaney both represent the problem of self-funding campaigns. If you're wealthy enough, you can always find consultants willing to take your money and tell you're (a) smart and (b) have a chance. Political gravity is suspended as long as the checks clear.

At least Delaney is running as a Democrat. I'm fine with that.

H Ross Perot when talking about 3rd party candidates. Or, in the last election, Gary Johnson...who pulled 3x as many votes as Jill Stein from the other side.

Also, fwiw, I don't see a bunch of woke liberals and progressives lining up to vote for another zillionaire businessman. One and done will be the mood I think.

We just need a strong authentic Progressive candidate, who, I believe, will convince anyone considering an Independent run to stick WITH the party, rather than stick it TO the party. It's truly united we stand, divided we fall!!

that if he runs, his Starbucks shareholders will be furious because the profits will drop preciptively - since a huge part of their market is Democrats who will stop patronizing Starbucks if they see Schultz trying to split the Trump opposition.

Howard Schultz, the former chief executive of Starbucks and a self-described “lifelong Democrat,” said Sunday he was preparing to run for president as an independent and had already begun the groundwork required to be on the ballot in all 50 states.

Mr. Schultz, in an interview with The New York Times, said he planned to crisscross the country for the next three months as part of a book tour before deciding whether to enter the race. A billionaire, Mr. Schultz would face a difficult road despite his considerable wealth: Few independent candidates have mounted successful challenges for the White House.

Candidates want two cycles of news coverage,
So they first announce they are “forming an exploratory committee” and then a few weeks later announce they are running.

I happened to be involved with the Perot thing long time ago and believe you me this guy isn't going anywhere, even if Faux endorses him.

No matter how much money you have you aren't going to get on the ballot everywhere and if you don't your chances are, oh, lets say, zero.

Perot started out with widespread national dissatisfaction and lots of coverage on tv (Larry King, etc.) and an incumbent whose most favorite quote involved watching his lips. There were huge efforts on the part of volunteers to get Perot on the ballot (he put up as much of his own money as Trump did} and he did get some votes in the end but his goal was to screw Bush so in that sense he succeeded.

What is Schultz all about? He might draw some GOPuke votes but Dems? Give me a break or Harris or Warren or Castro or anybody but Trump and no matter how many media talking heads try to pump up the phony "horse race" scenario most everyone understands that the future of this nation depends on dumping Trump and Pence the Unfriendly Ghost.
