Proposal to turn our Shopko into a Homeless Shelter...

My city in central Wisconsin is closing 2 Shopko Stores....it was proposed yesterday to turn the big one uptown into a Homeless Shelter. I think this is a terrific idea..

3. That's a good idea. It's such a heartbreaking and growing problem in our society.

I heard on NPR yesterday that in the largest city in our small state there are more than 100 families on a waiting list for a homeless shelter and 57 of those are families living in cars with children. Last week I stopped at a local Walgreens to pick up a prescription. It was bitter cold. At the corner of the parking lot there were 3 overflowing shopping carts filled with personal possessions. I looked for whoever might own the stuff, but there was no sign of anyone around. All you can do is hope someone took them in. The next POTUS should call THIS a "national emergency" and set about dealing with the causes as well as the solutions.
