(65,735 posts)I'm nearly deaf, and usually skip videos. Still have a little hearing, but when the volume is as low as this one, it's a struggle.
(When I'm on stage, I lip read my cues and can at least hear my own voice through bone conduction!)

(65,735 posts)uncaptioned videos for us deafies, and everyone was very nice, apologizing for not thinking of it and promising to do so in the future.
They do mean to, but when one is not hearing impaired, it is hard to remember that many people are.

(48,338 posts)and senators on both sides of the aisle do the same thing. Get up in front of the camera and yell indignantly to garner political points. Some of them were people I liked and supported, but I recognize the tactic and take it with a grain of salt as a rule.
As Rachel always says, pay attention to what they DO, not what they SAY.
