(13,865 posts)They died within 5 months of each other. After Dad died, my Mom just sat, usually very quiet, and waited to die.

(24,259 posts)die within a year of each other.
My husband's father (w/Alz) died 7 months after his mother unexpectedly back in 2000/2001. They were in their 80s and been together since the early 40s.
My own dad died last month, 6 mo after my beloved (step) mom. He was in his mid 90s and had been her caregiver for around 10 yrs. They had been together since the mid 70s (both previously widowed) and truly enjoyed and adored each other all those years.

(6,254 posts)That makes up todays GOP.
It's been downhill fast for that party since the elder Bush left in '93 and the Gingrinch wing took over.
Nothing but confederacy-coddling, hate radio, fake news, and fascism 2.0 ever since.

(447 posts)I imagine reuniting with my brother especially, which is kind of funny since he was a staunch atheist! Every Memorial Day when I put flowers (real ones, of course!) on his grave, I apologize for the barbaric act (in his eyes) I am committing.
