That Trump's VA says that it can't reimburse the vets that it short-changed, because of computer problems is complete bullshit. I worked in the computer industry for 20 years. I don't know what computer system the VA uses to look-up names, benefits, addresses, and print a check and a mailing envelope, but whatever computer system it is can be reprogrammed to get the job done. What's the big deal? Does the VA not have in-house computer programming expertise? I don't buy that. Does the VA not want to budget the money fix this problem by either in-house talent or subcontracting to a corporate firm, like IBM or Oracle, etc. Now that I can believe.
I highly suspect that every agency of the Trump Admin has been told to cut costs on steroids now that Republicans have screwed the Fed budget with their tax cut for billionaires. What do you think? OK DU corporate computer folks, what's the deal.
Screwing over vets about money benefits == is that not the perfect example of the Trump admin?

GOPers say they support Veterans and the military. Where is that support now?

(2,389 posts)Booz Allen was hired to upgrade the VA's IT system.
My biggest concern is two words: IT, said Coy at the time. We have an IT system in much or almost all of these sections that requires some degree of changes.
After Coy retired this year, the VA cut his position and the Office of Economic Opportunity. Multiple Veteran Service Organizations said the loss of this role, as well as the office, meant that there was no one left at the VA to communicate the issues to veterans or to lobby higher-ups about the GI Bill issues.
