to make a splash and it fell onto the floor w/ a solid dud, after he was all up in the air preaching high and mighty about the virtues of his so called release of information which would damn everyone in sight!

In short, he was playing fast and dirty w/ the release of information, which I'm sure involved classified information. Nail his ass to the wall.

I don't think the House can subpoena one of its own members. It could, however, investigate him for possible censure. That would have a similar effect.
