Trump wants Pelosi as Speaker

Why do you think that is?

With Democrats winning control of the House, President Trump signaled Wednesday his support for Pelosi as speaker. In a tweet Trump said that Pelosi “has earned this great honor” and suggested the Republican party could help her secure the job. “If they (Democrats) give her a hard time, perhaps we will add some Republican votes,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

Trump, though, showed an early interest in working with her, charmed at times by her deal-making prowess. If she returns as leader, it’s easy to imagine Pelosi courting Trump’s support on shared priorities ahead of the 2020 election, like a big infrastructure package or lower prescription drug prices that eluded past presidents — the kind of bipartisanship voters say they want from Washington.

trump is deeply horrified by Nancy Pelosi. A woman taking him down. Poor little orange baby. He believes he is brilliant enough to keep Pelosi from being speaker with his bullshit. Donny is scared. Very scared.

She didn't "take impeachment off the table." She said it's not likely to happen, with the numbers they have, and that it shouldn't be the Democrats' top priority.

In a pair of interviews Tuesday evening, Pelosi suggested impeachment was unlikely and not something Democrats would go out of their way to pursue.

"I don't think there's any impeachment unless it's bipartisan," she told CNBC as results filtered in and the reality of the Democrat-controlled House became clearer. "Our priority is to get results for the American people.

She's absolutely right. The Democrats can do plenty of damage to Trump without using up their time and energy handing him the gift of an unsuccessful impeachment attempt.

Priority doesn't need to be impeachment which will go nowhere given the Senate numbers.

Unless something huge happens, of course.

I don't feel like finding the quote.... the point is, trump knows Pelosi wants none of that and the added boogie women that she supplies him are why he would welcome her as speaker..

that is fantasy narrative that the media he is trying to push. Trumps infrastructure plan involves massive privatizations schemes Democrats will not go along with them and they shouldn't. Even if Trump were willing to work with Democrats to do infrastructure the traditional way republicans in the senate will not go for it. Trump is not a leader sure he could push republicans to do whatever fit their ideology like tax for the rich and repealing healthcare, but when it comes to something like infrastructure forget about it.

Several times before she got him to agree to to something that the Rs didn't want, so they shut it down. Now she get agreements from him and pass them in the House. This puts Trump and the Senate in the uncomfortable position of either passing something Trump agreed to but they don't want, or looking like idiots because Pelosi gave Trump what he says he wants, and he still can't get it done.

They will tie Speaker Pelosi to “the radical left” as a tactic. This is pretty well known. He also knows she’s lost certain Democratic support. He’s an asshole.
